You fall once, you rise three Times!

If you did a quick desk research about highly celebrated and successful individuals around the globe, you will be surprised by the stark reality of how many times they failed before finally hitting it big!

You will also discover that a common thread among all of them is that they learnt from their mistakes and failures to perfect their craft to become successful.  My own mantra which I now use to encourage people during mentoring sessions is that- when you fall, get up and start again! It’s a lesson I learnt early on my career journey…..story for another day.

We must get to a place where we are not threatened by hurdles, curves and bumpy rides but we must assume an easy posture that enjoys all the twists and turns of life.

Never be cheated and make no mistake to think that life is a bed of roses. Moments of failure and disappointment will come knocking at your door at some point in life. But that’s not the end of your journey; it’s just an event among the many chapters of your life.

I must point out that the worst tragedy is not necessarily failing, but the inability to get up, reboot and start afresh when you fall. Here is the most comforting hard fact of life, when you celebrate your first victory against any form of setback; you become resilient and confident to face any other challenge in future.

So, to conclude, just because something didn’t work for you the first time, doesn’t mean that you are a failure. We all have failed before, but we never stopped trying. You must be courageous enough to try again until you succeed.

Finally, the book of wisdom in Proverbs 24:16 says a righteous man may fall seven times, and seven times he will get back up again. Enjoy the ride.
